Brown Girls Do Network®is a dynamic community and platform that empowers and supports women of color in their personal and professional journeys. Our mission is to create a space where women can connect, collaborate, and thrive. We provide resources, events, and opportunities for networking and skill-building. Our businesses serve women of color from diverse backgrounds, including entrepreneurs, professionals, and creatives. We aim to uplift and amplify the voices and experiences of women of color, providing them with the tools and support they need to succeed in their chosen fields. Our Founder
Vanessa Williamson
I am Vanessa Williamson, Founder of Brown Girls Do Network® and licensed clinical social worker from Irvington, NJ. In addition to my clinical work, I am the proud creator and curator of V W Freelance Photography Studio, located in Newburgh, New York.
One of my proudest achievements began on June 12, 2022, when I threw my very first tea party in my backyard, inviting women I had met in the community and, mostly, through my
portrait studio. I wanted to create a space for these incredible women to connect beyond the surface level, as I believed they each had valuable insights and assets to share. The energy and support that emerged during that initial gathering were electric; everyone was eager to share their businesses and stories.
The enthusiasm was so palpable that they insisted on having a second tea party months later. This time, we had double the attendance and double the love, and it was clear that something meaningful had begun. From there, a committee was formed, and an LLC was birthed, leading to the creation of a thriving network of BROWN, professional women entrepreneurs. As a social worker, photographer, and community Leader, I am committed to making a difference in the lives of those around me.
